Axe throwing is the latest trend in indoor sport. Since its launch in 2006, no one has been able to stop its meteoric rise. Today, there are hundreds of axe throwing facilities not only in North America, where the game originated, but also anywhere else in the world. But axe throwing involves a dangerous weapon so you won’t be allowed to wield it without the proper training. This is where an axe throwing course will come in. Most clubs offer lessons to their guests to ensure that they have a worthwhile experience. If you are really serious with axe throwing, these sessions or starting an axe throwing course will be your stepping stone. So how do you get started?
Find a Club
Finding an axe throwing club can be easy. If you are in luck, you may be able to find one in your city or state. Once you are able to find a facility, sign up to be a member. Check if the facility offers axe throwing lessons or a full axe throwing course. If they do, a coach will assist you in learning how to throw an axe. So what will you learn from your coach?
As author Jerry Gilbert pointed out in his study, Modern Throwing Weapons, most ax throwers know: “There is no one right way to cast.” You can learn to shoot in any way that is convenient for you. However, he also said that even if there is no right or wrong path, there will be better or worse paths. I will not tell others if your pitch hit the board correctly. Some pitches are time consuming and require excellent work. There are also some methods that can give relatively high precision with little practice. Each has different physiological functions, and there will be no two identical launches.

Shape, control, and movement are key to effective axe throwing, ensuring you keep up with your teammates’ ax throwing in competition. Unlike other sports that require strength and power, axe throwing includes more of these three factors, as well as some initial rules and procedures.
Aside from helping you learn to throw an axe, most instructors will also help you learn other basic things you need to learn to become successful in throwing an axe.
Find your place
One more important thing than people think is where you decide to hit the ground. However, the reality is that this position will increase the probability that you will shoot yourself! We recommend 5 steps up to 12 feet from the target. The position you choose should give you enough room so that your non-dominant leg steps forward and you can launch the ball with your dominant hand.
Get a good grip
Now that you have found the best place to root, you can now grab the ax to be thrown. We recommend keeping the ax down like a baseball bat. This grip can help you overcome a large area when you finally drop the ax, which is exactly what you want.
Once you have mastered the ax, you are ready to throw the ball. Lift the ax back and place it behind your head. When doing this, make sure your wrists and elbows are locked so that you can pull the ax with some force. As soon as you have your own position and feel this power, you must focus on it. Focus on the goal ahead and the goal you want to achieve. Are you ready? Ok, take a deep breath.
Time to throw things away! You focus on your goal, take a deep breath, and then exhale. When you’re ready to throw, you want to throw the ax, just like throwing a soccer ball with both hands. One of the many things we see is releasing the ax, which is overweight, but this is the last thing you should do. When released, in addition to the wrist doing additional work, simply drop the ax when it is fully upright. Don’t forget to keep your arms straight so you can transfer all these forces to the launch.
You will learn the different types of throw. Initially, the coach will teach you both the overhand and the underhand throws. Eventually, they will help you find a throw you are most comfortable with. Your instructor will also teach you proper handling of the axe before making the throw. You will also learn the following related to your throw:
· A grip is a position where a hand and thumb are placed on the handle of an ax to provide the most durable grip and control. There are two and one hand pens.
· Stance is the position and location of the legs. Some coaches prefer to put their feet on a flat surface. Other coaches prefer the position of one leg over the other. All coaches emphasize that they must remain behind the duct tape on the floor before entering the safe area.
· Draw, put an ax to your head and get ready for launch. To free yourself, you must aim at the target, move the ax forward, drop the ax, and then follow the hand. Ideally, the ax will rotate towards the target.
· Recovery: Remove the ax from the landing, target or ground.
Axe throwing involves a dangerous weapon. For this reason, safety precautions will also be part of any axe throwing lesson. The more competitions or official tournaments you organize, the more you will get used to it. Fortunately, there are several ways to counter the effects of the sensation itself or your launch.
