Axe throwing has gone a long way from its lumberjack days. It is now one of the most popular pastimes in London that both men and women indulge in. Axe throwing isn’t just a sport for a lot of people, it has also become an outlet for stress relief. There are different axe throwing clubs in London that have provided people a venue for practicing their axe throwing skills. In this article, we will take a look at a few of them.
Whistle Punks Axe Throwing
The simple Whistlepunks site is located in Vauxhall Arch in South London and was the first custom axe throwing center in London. Here Londoners can hold a powerful axe in their hands, send it to the area of operation and hope to bury it in the target with a satisfactory THWUNK.
Admittedly, there are certain tricks to a successful axe throw. You need to apply the appropriate number of turns to hit the target. This requires a lot of trial and error. You should also verify the relative merits of one hand and double throw. Fortunately, professional axe throwers will always give helpful advice, or at least sensible words of encouragement.
It is expected that after gaining experience, you will start to feel more confident and able to compete with others,
Keep also in mind: For obvious reasons, drinking is prohibited, and impossible. You should also be mindful of not disturbing the Axe Thrower, such as sneezing or coughing. Axe Throwing remains a dangerous pursuit and it is important not to surprise people at crucial moments.
You will share the goal with others (up to twelve people share a set of two targets), so it’s not really designed for those who want to be antisocial. On the other hand, if you plan to throw a big party with an axe, the venue can accommodate up to 48 players.
Whistlepunks is located at SW8 1SQ, Bondway 73, Arch 25, Handel Business Center. Nearest station: Voxhall. Its working hours is from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekends, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Saturday and Sunday).

In 2006, a group of friends missed a cabin near Toronto and decided to drop an axe on a stump. They hardly knew that this innocent way of killing time would soon become a global movement.
Back in Toronto, Matt Wilson, the founder and CEO of BATL, decided to set a goal in his backyard and invited several friends to show them how to throw firewood with an axe with a sharp ax. A point system was created, and soon a group of 8 friends got together every week and played in friendly competitions. 8 friends quickly grew to 16 friends, and 16 quickly grew to 32 friends. Before realizing this, Matt spent 2 full leagues in his backyard, totaling more than 60 nights. This does not include exciting new sports for the viewers who came to watch.
BATL London has provided over 7,000 square feet of axe throwing space. It is in the heart of Lambton, Elgin, Chatham Kent & Essex counties. Our London location is 10 minutes from Budweiser Gardens and can accommodate from 2 to 100 people.
BATL London is open 7 days a week from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm for booking of events. It can accommodate groups from 2 to 100 people. There are targets for 16 axes complete with digital scoring. There is a bar and fully-licensed kitchen offering a variety of local beers.
Since its founding 10 years ago, the “Knife Club” (the unofficial name of the British Association for Throwing Knives, Axes and Tomahawks (KATTA)) has come a long way. KATTA has evolved from the only sword throwing club in the UK to an umbrella association consisting of several affiliated clubs across the country. Thanks to the hard work, determination and dedication of our members, we have become one of the largest and most respected national sports launching clubs in the world. In 2015, we held the world euro throwing championship, organized many regional championships throughout the year, organized a national championship every year, and developed a knife and axe throwing league. In 2018, we also expanded into the Double Bit Axing launch world!
KATTA UK does not encourage illegal launching (people launching), commercial advertising, unsafe launching or objects prohibited by British law, i.e. launching stars. KATTA recommends that customers should read their legal and safety advice. This site is not responsible for the use of its content.
KATTA UK is located near Pontefract (near the intersection of A1, M62 and M1). There are also five regional clubs in Essex, Hull, Milton Keynes, Edinburgh, and Heswith (near Mansfield). For any questions or inquiries, customers can visit their personal website or through their main Facebook page.
They hold informal regular meetings in Pontefract to encourage people to get involved. One does not need to be a participant or attend a meeting, but saying “hi” to the social group is highly encouraged. They offer many casting knives, battle axes, axes, nails, etc. available. The club does its best to accommodate launchers of various styles and launch objects, although of course security needs to be considered first. If someone under 18 wants to participate, they must be accompanied by an adult who will observe them during the course of the study.
